Keys for Keeps is the final phase in the TUWC Housing Continuum — a visionary rent-to-own model where participants contribute to their home, their community, and their future.
Eligibility & Pathway Into Keys for Keeps
To ensure long-term stability and success, participants must:
- ✔️ Complete Hearth to Home or an equivalent stabilization program
- ✔️ Demonstrate readiness for long-term community living
- ✔️ Maintain sobriety or actively engage in recovery support
- ✔️ Commit to 10 years of stewardship and growth
- ✔️ Engage in employment, education, or soul-purpose development
- ✔️ Agree to community values, safety standards, and property care
- ✔️ Be able to contribute affordable rent (60–70% market rate)
Children, teens, pets, and chosen family structures are welcomed with dignity. TUWC works closely with residents to ensure success from day one.
How the Rent-to-Own Model Works
- ✔️ Residents pay affordable rent based on income and stability
- ✔️ Each year, residents earn Equity Credits
- ✔️ Credits grow through community care, contribution, and property stewardship
- ✔️ Residents receive full legal title after 10 years of participation
- ✔️ Homes use sustainable, low-maintenance, eco-friendly designs
- ✔️ If a resident chooses to leave early, their credits may transfer into supportive pathways
